20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
These people knew who God was; they saw what He did in the lives of people around them. They knew the truth, and they experienced the truth; yet they failed to walk it out. They claimed with their mouths to know God; however, they failed to walk in the fullness of righteousness that was freely given to them. They began worshipping false images, false ideas. Rather than focusing on God and what He said, they turned there focus on mans ideas, and they elevated that above the eternal truth. By seeking after mans ideas/religion, they became foolish. Although they may have been fairly intelligent in their logic, in following the wisdom of man they were led away from the blessings of a ordered and Godly lifestyle. All of a sudden the things of God, the “normal”, became abnormal. What was unheard of became popular, so much that those who tried to live a natural lifestyle were ridiculed. For whatever reason, the people chose to walk away from all that God was doing in order to pursue their own ideas. It would have broken Papa’s heart to see this, but there was nothing He could do to help them. They made fun of anyone that came to refocus everyone’s attention on the Father. He had no choice but to let them continue in their ways- that is love. He honored His children’s decision and allowed them to completely reject His friendship and spit in His face. I have no doubt, however, that He wouldn’t be there to meet these people the moment they hit bottom and cried out for help. That is what a true Father or Friend would do. If wicked humans know to do this, how much more does the loving Father want to be there when His children cry out?
Woe to the one who elevates his speculations and ideas over the legitimate truth revealed through Jesus Christ. Out of love the Father lets one make their own decisions. It is out of Love also that Papa comes to those who cry out for mercy after they have hit rock bottom. If you follow a specific line of thought and elevate that over Holy Spirits revelation of the Bible, you are headed for a rough time. Come back to the basics of scripture and ask Papa to reveal truth that his hidden within these texts
